Race Nights Back on - Friday 14 October !

Why not bring a friend?

After a months break it's time to dive in at the next meet this friday with racing starting at 6.30pm. This will be the first long course meet for the new 2005/06 season and the first chance to gain points for the "Swimmers of the Year 2005/06".

Make sure you get to the centre by 6.15pm to warm up and register by 6.25pm. The BBQ usually gets going by 6.45pm for hungry swimmers!

With the school swimming season beginning shortly the club races every second Friday night are a great opportunity to get racing experience and make sure swimmers are properly prepared for their school teams. In the process it's all about having fun and meeting like minded people in the process of setting personal bests! See the website at www.cpswimclub.info for all the details.

Brothers and Sisters of Swimmers have free entry so they can enjoy all the club facilites as well as get a great meal at the clubs BBQ.

Gala Night Coming up!

Book in Friday 28 October at 6:30pm for the Gala Night. As well as being our Annual General Meeting we will also be doing a variety of novelty and fun races and relays. Who knows maybe even some of the parents may even get wet! We will also be awarding the trophies and prizes for "Swimmers of the Year 2004/05". This is a big event on the clubs calendar and you don't want to miss this one! More details in future newsletters.

2005 SC CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS!

With 10 club records broken, and 53 PB’s set, it was an excellent and highly rewarding night of competition. Apart from Oliver Schaffer and Samantha Marshall who set 4 new club records each, also setting records were Emma Radford and Patrick Carr. In addition, Emma set PB’s in all 6 races she swam in, while Eleanor set PB’s in all 5 races she entered. These are truly great performances.

Computerised results

We have a computerised race results system which gives us the results straight after the meet concludes. The results are published on our website and can be viewed at Results.

Club BBQ

The barbeque will again be operating on Friday nights from 6.45pm, with the complimentary champagne, beer and wine again available to all parents and support crew. Remember that brothers and sisters of the swimmers have free entry so they can enjoy all the facilities of the center, and have a delicious dinner, while the Race Squad battle out the point score placings!

Gym Membership

A reminder that the center has a very modern, fully equipped gym, and they have agreed that exclusively for our club there is now a 25% discount on ANY gym membership for Swim Club members' immediate family.

Fees due

Membership fees for 2005/06 are due and swimmers need to join or renew to swim after 30 September 2005. Go to the website at www.cpswimclub.info to download the application form from the fees page. Failing that see Nish - the man behind the desk at race nights.
