Cook + Phillip Swim Club

RACE NIGHT IS ON TOMORROW NIGHT AT 6.30PM !

The 2006 / 2007 long course season continues, with the second race night happening tomorrow evening at 6.30pm. Please try and be there by 6.00pm so that we can get all the entries put into the computer in time for a 6.30 start - it will also give some time for the swimmers to do a bit of a warm up.

The club had some outstanding results achieved by both our senior and junior squads at the Eastern Suburbs Swimming Association District summer carnivals that concluded last weekend. Full results are on the ESSA web page and a summary of how our swimmers went will be in the next newsletter. With a whole lot of PB's, some new district records and a squad that was the biggest we have ever sent to an external race meet, it was a great start to the year.

The annual general meeting of the Cook +Phillip Swim Club was held on Monday 6th of November. It is really pleasing to report that a lot of "new blood" put their hands up to help run the club and to help it get bigger and better. This is going to be terrific for all the swimmers and their parents. Under the clubs constitution all office bearers need to be re-elected every year by the financial members of the club who attend the AGM. At this meeting the following positions were filled :

President & Patron : John Konrads
Vice Presidents : Steve Garner and David Marshall
Secretary : Tim Mahony
Treasurer & Registrar : Glenn Annear
Committee Members : Greg Brown, Ewan Macdonald, Steve Vineberg, Jacki Pervan
Honorary Auditor : to be appointed

Specific responsibilities were allocated as follows :

Ewan to actively endeavour to enrol Cook and Phillip Swim School participants to join in race nights
Tim and Jacki to keep up to date the Cook and Phillip Swim Club notice board area.
Greg to be responsible for the barbeque
Ewan to handle race night marshalling and timekeeping
Jacki to look after sponsorship and membership growth
David to write the newsletter and to coordinate entries for external race meets
Glenn (Nish) to handle all IT and web page maintenance
