SWIMCLUB UPDATE

Our Swimmers Star in the Speedo Sprint Series!

Our club sent a team of 8 swimmers to the Speedo Sprint Series heats late last month and we have just received the official results. Despite being a relatively small squad (from a relatively small club!) our team qualified for a total of 23 finals in this highly competitive statewide event. This was a fantastic effort and again shows what a positive impact our coaches Steve and Martin are having on the performance levels of our swimmers. Congratulations to all of the following who will be representing the club on the big stage at the Sydney Olympic Pool at Homebush on Sunday March 12 : Popy Aldous (1 final), Sam Annear & Tom Mahony (3 finals)

Extra bouquets to the following who made 4 finals from 4 heats - what a performance !

Mia Portelli, Luc Aldous, Miriam Carr and Samantha Marshall.

Speedo Sprint this Sunday 7.45am warm up at Homebush, don't be late.

Cheers Steve

EASTERN SUBURBS SWIMMING ASSOCIATION DISTRICT JUNIOR MEET

For the first time we have been invited to attend this meet. It is to be held on Saturday March 18 at 12pm at Des Renford Aquatic Centre (Hefron Park, Maroubra). It is for all swimmers aged 10 and under and will be a fantastic opportunity to get some real racing experience. Entries close on March 11 so it is important that you contact the club at Click here to email  if you want to be part of the squad representing our club. Being part of a race squad really is a lot of fun and strongly recommended for all swimmers.

Gym Membership

A reminder that the centre has a very modern, fully equipped gym, and they have agreed that exclusively for our club there is now a 25% discount on ANY gym membership for Swim Club members' immediate family.

Computerised results

We have a computerised race system which gives us all of the results straight after the meet concludes. These and other results are published on our website and can be viewed at Results.

Fees due

Membership fees for 2005/06 are now overdue and swimmers need to join or renew to swim at the next meet on Friday, 3 February. There are very serious insurance issues if a swimmer races in our club without being financial. Accordingly we have to insist that each swimmer is paid up before being allowed to compete. Go to the website at www.cpswimclub.info to download the application form from the fees page. Failing that see Nish - the man behind the desk at race nights.

Club BBQ

The barbeque will again be operating on Friday nights from 6.45pm, with the complimentary champagne, beer and wine again available to all parents and support crew. Remember that brothers and sisters of the swimmers have free entry so they can enjoy all the facilities of the centre, and have a delicious dinner, while the Race Squad battle out the point score placings!
