Race Night on February 15

A whole wave of new (mainly very young) members certainly pushed the older kids, and some fantastic performances were recorded. The standout was the record breaking swim of Lara Molle in the Open 25 meter freestyle where she set a new record. It was her first race night so what a start ! Congratulations !

What is really impressive is that 15 swimmers set PB's, and special mention to our youngest swimmer, 6 year old Henry Palmerlee who did 2 PB's and in his third race equalled his PB - great effort !

Also worthy of special mention were those swimmers who scored a "Perfect 4" (ie 4 PB's out of 4 races), and they were Sammy Annear (one by over 10 seconds which is pretty amazing in a 50m race !) ; Tom Mahony and Mia Mahony (what is Jacki feeding them ? !)

Speedo Finals on March 9 at SOPAC

We have a record 9 swimmers who came through the area heats and made the finals of the State wide Speedo Sprint series. Best of luck on the 9th to Sammy Annear, Ali Gazal, Jasper Goodall, Petra Goodall, Jade Jowett-Crociani, Daniel Leech, Tom Mahony, Matt Small and Cecile Vadas.

Racing Parka's

We will shortly be ordering more club parkas (those long. blue coat like things that are perfect for chilly mornings and carnivals held outdoors). Please contact David if you want one on 0416.178.547 . Cost is about $110 plus embroidery and handling. These are strongly recommended, particularly if you are thinking of coming to Tasmania in September !

Club BBQ

The barbeque will again be operating on Friday nights from 6.45pm, with the complimentary champagne, beer and wine again available to all parents and support crew. Remember that brothers and sisters of the swimmers have free entry so they can enjoy all the facilities of the centre, and have a delicious dinner, while the Race Squad battle out the point score placings!
